The vast majority have the procedure on a Thursday or Friday and go back to work on Monday.

Generally, yes, but it depends on what the job is. If working at home on a computer, you should be back to work in just a day or so. If lifting heavy things all day, I recommend a couple of weeks off.

If you have a desk job, you may return back to work the next day.

If you do desk work, you have to take off about three days. If you do more than desk work, my recommendation is to take off 7 to 10 days.
