Will it cause long-term damage if I ejaculate too soon after a vasectomy?

My doctor says to wait two weeks before ANY kind of sexual activity. The literature says one week. Can ejaculation cause damage to the vas deferens if it's too soon?

No, there is no long term damage after a vasectomy, but there is likely to be increased soreness and prolonged recovery.

Probably not. I recommend one week of abstinence. You do want some time to pass to allow the site to heal. You might experience more swelling than you would if you waited the week, however it will probably not affect the desired outcome of the procedure; that being sterility.

Ejaculation won't cause damage, but it is good to give the area time to heal before engaging in sexual activity. Two weeks is a reasonable time frame.
