Vasectomy Questions

During post-vasectomy ejaculation, why does one testicle feel like it empties and the other doesn't?
Vasectomy -1 answer
I’m 48. I had a vasectomy 14 years ago. Ever since, when ejaculating, it seems only the right testicle empties and left remains full. I don’t experience any pain. This didn’t happen before the vasectomy. Can you tell me what is going on or what the possible reasons for this are?

Did my vasectomy fail? Is it possible for one sperm to slip through?
Vasectomy -2 answers
I had a vasectomy in 2002. I was cleared by the doctor to have sex without risk of being fertile. I have since been divorced. I dated another woman, who is now claiming she is pregnant and cites I'm the only one she has been with. We are in 2019. I have had sex many times without issue. Is it possible that my vasectomy no longer works? Could one sperm have slipped through?

How do you know whether a vasectomy has failed?
Vasectomy -1 answer
My husband had a vasectomy 15 years ago before I ever met him. Since then, he found out the doctor who did his surgery was sued for malpractice due to a 95% failure rate. Is there a way to find out, without a sperm test, if his vasectomy has failed too?

Vasectomy -1 answer
I have a lot of swelling 5 days after vasectomy, and the area is extremely painful to touch. A light touch where the tube inside was cut feels like a 1,000-pound impact; it is extremely painful. What should I do? Is something wrong?

My doctor nicked a vein during the vasectomy procedure. What is the treatment for this?
Vasectomy -1 answer
My doctor nicked a vein during the vasectomy procedure. The right side is fine, but the left side is twice the size and hard. I had more pain on the left side during the vasectomy. The doctor said it was normal. Now, I have an infection and a little pus is coming out. I'm on antibiotics (500mg levofloxacin 1X a day). How do I treat the pain and swelling I'm having?

Is it possible to father a child 22 years after a vasectomy?
Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a vasectomy 22 years ago. My girlfriend recently told me she is pregnant and I am the father. I've already scheduled a semen analysis. Procedure notes indicate a section of vas removed, tied, stapled and burned. I had no problems with my ex-wife. Girlfriend states that on vacation she became pregnant with my child. Odds seem very remote. If the semen analysis comes back with a sperm count of ZERO, does this still mean I could possibly be the father?

I think my vasectomy incision is infected. Do I need to go to the ER or should I wait until Wednesday when my urologist opens?
Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a vasectomy about 17 days ago. I recently noticed a lump at the incision site. If I press it, white pus comes out. I also noticed yellow and red drainage in my shorts. There is no fever and I feel very little pain. The bump does seem to be getting smaller as it drains.

I had a vasectomy about a week ago. I still have significant pain. Is this normal?
Vasectomy -1 answer
The pain locations are at the base of the shaft of my penis, pinpointed on either side, about where the scrotum and pelvis meet. It comes and goes. I also get pain on either testicle (on the right more often than the left) that feels like something is gently scraping against the testicle on the inside of my scrotum. This is the more significant pain, and can vary from feeling like someone flicked or poked me, to a hit that makes me catch my breath. Is this normal?

Is it necessary to ejaculate before vasectomy?
Vasectomy -1 answer
Is it necessary to ejaculate before vasectomy? The person I am asking for has been completely celibate for several months and has not ejaculated at all in that time. He is asking if it would be best to do before the vasectomy procedure or if it’s okay that he doesn’t. Please advise.

The clips used during my vasectomy came off. What are the chances my tubes rejoined? Is it possible to get someone pregnant?
Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a clip come off and exit my ejaculate a few years ago. Despite a negative sperm check, I worry that the ends have rejoined. What are the chances of getting someone pregnant? I should add that I had blood in my semen at one point.

The clamps placed during vasectomy came off and now the amount of cum is the same as before the surgery. Can I get my partner pregnant?
Vasectomy -2 answers
My vasectomy was 5 years ago; the healing went fine. A couple of years ago, I kept swelling and my balls would turn blue. Went to ER and they did an ultrasound. They said my clamps had almost come completely off. After ejaculation, my balls would shrivel up and feel like I was kicked in the balls by a horse. I also could feel the clamps. Now, I can’t feel my clamps and no pain. I'm back to pre-surgery amount of cum. We want another baby. Could it happen or do I need a reversal?

Am I exhibiting the signs of post-vasectomy infection?
Vasectomy -1 answer
I'm 5 months post-no-scalpel vasectomy. In the last week, I’ve developed a testicle ache with occasional sharp, burning pain up the vas into the upper groin. It varies in intensity and responds well to heat or ibuprofen. I assumed congestion. The urologist I saw today never heard of that and suspects infection. He gave me Doxycycline even though the urine test was negative. I have no unusual swelling or redness or fever. Is this possible? Should I wait it out before taking antibiotics?

On my scrotum I can see the puncture hole. There is no bleeding or discharge of any kind, but there is a visible hole. Will that go away after time?
Vasectomy -2 answers
I can open the hole a bit and it's sealed within the hole. Just wondering if I'll always have a new hole there or if it will seal up over time. Thank you!
