My husband has had pain and swelling in his testicle since having a vasectomy. Should he go to the ER or wait to see the doctor?

My husband had a vasectomy about a year ago. Ever since his testicle swells up and causes a lot of pain. He currently has one testicle that is very swollen and tender. He said it shoots pain up into his groin area.

If it is minor swelling accompanied by mild bruising and no redness or fever, you don't need to go to the ER. I'd be patient. However, it is rarely a bad idea to call the office and run by your situation with the urologist's nurse. She can also give you some insight and the recommendations of the urologist.
