Is it more expensive to remove the entire vas deferens and epididymis? If so, how much does it cost on average? Is it covered by insurance?

Yes, it is more difficult to remove the entire vas and epididymidis. Unless there is a disease process, your insurance will not pay. The cost involved in this surgery varies from one region to another.

The answer is yes. A vasectomy can be done in the office in 15 minutes. The removal of the epididymis is a much longer procedure that would require an OR, general anesthesia and have a lot more potential complications. You would NOT do this unless there were other reasons. The cost would be much greater because of the OR, time and anesthesia.
