I never had a ‘clear’ sample. A sample showed 1 dead sperm 5 years after my vasectomy. Many months later, I was still showing < 5 dead sperm and figured I was good. I’ve read about areas where sperm can ‘hang out’, but isn’t this a little extreme? Before the procedure, there were lots of times where I pressed on my ‘taint’ while masturbating, which gave the feeling of orgasm without expelling semen. Could this have played a part in me still having dead sperm show up?
The direct answer to the question is no. Obstructing the egress of sperm at the time of ejaculation should not have any long-term effects at all. The majority of sperm leave the testicle and end up in storage spaces just outside the prostate. These areas are called seminal vesicles and they are deep within the pelvis far beyond anyone's effort to feel them from the outside. However a physician can feel them many times on a rectal exam. Although they do not completely empty at the time of any single ejaculation over time there is complete exchange of the sperm that are contained therein.
