No-Scalpel Vasectomy Questions

Can enough sperm be retrieved from the vas def 3 months post-vasectomy to perform an IUI?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
My husband had a vasectomy in July 2019 and it was confirmed in October he is sterile. We’ve since decided we made a terrible mistake and we’d like 1 more child to complete our family. We don’t want a reversal but sperm aspiration to attempt IUI and not IVF. Is this possible? We’ve always gotten pregnant within 2 months of trying so there’s no female infertility factor. Thanks.

Can a short vas cause post-vasectomy complications?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
Right vas is shorter than left (born that way). MD had trouble isolating right vas during initial consultation but said it could be done. A week after surgery, I experienced intense pain on right side of scrotum and incision began to bleed intermittently until a vas clip was expelled through the cut weeks later. I suspect it was clipped from right vas (which being shorter kept receding into the inguinal canal, thus triggering pain), causing the clip to separate from vas. Any thoughts?

What happens if you are celibate after a vasectomy?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
Will you get an all-clear test if you wait long enough or do you absolutely have to ejaculate a certain amount of times? Wondering if the sperm will eventually just die in the vas deferens and therefore ejaculation is not necessary? I had my vasectomy in late November and only ejaculated 5-10 times after but since February have decided to be celibate. I have not yet been tested to make sure that I am clear.

I had a no-scalpel vasectomy 3 weeks ago. The left side still aches and is tender. The right side is fine. I'm worried because it's been 3 weeks now and I was advised I should be fine after 1 week.

How long does a no-scalpel vasectomy wound take to heal?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -2 answers
It's been roughly 3 weeks since my no-scalpel vasectomy. The wound is still wet and looks fresh. It's clean; I'm using non-woven swabs. There is no pain or infection. I'm just wondering how long the wound will take to heal?

I'm still mildly sore and achy roughly 4 weeks after my vasectomy. Is this normal?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a no-scalpel vasectomy just under 4wks ago and still have a dull ache and some pangs of a “kick to the balls” feeling. Is this normal? Doesn’t appear to be any real huge swelling, just an ache feeling around the sides and back of my testicles. As well, the puncture site still has a stitch and is a bit sensitive to the touch. Does healing just take longer for some?

Is it normal to have a burning/tingling sensation during and after ejaculation?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a vasectomy 2.5 weeks ago and was abstinent for the first 10 days. My testicles and general area are still tender but sexual activity is fine. At the end of an ejaculation there is a burning/tingling sensation at the end of my penis. Almost like a mild version of if you have gotten soap in the end of your penis. It lasts for 30 seconds to a minute after ejaculating. I've never had this issue before. Will this go away? Is it normal?

Can impacts to my groin after a vasectomy cause failure years later?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a vasectomy performed 3 years ago. My urologist cauterized the upper ends of my vas and utilized fascial interposition via titanium hemoclips to also clamp my bottom ends out of alignment. I have been struck and accidentally hit a few times in my balls because I practice martial arts. Could those impacts ruin or cause my vasectomy to fail in the future by possibly unattaching the clips? Thanks

My doctor says when I drop off my sperm sample, transit doesn't matter after collection because they only look for dead sperm. Is that correct?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
Almost all the websites I read say to get semen samples to the office/lab within 1 hour of collecting them. But my doctor said it doesn't matter how long it takes to get the sample to them because they only look for dead sperm, which would be present in the sample regardless of whether the sample is fresh or not. Is that true?

I want a no-scalpel vasectomy. Apparently, the metal wire retainer on my teeth may cause electrical shocks during the procedure. Advice?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
I want a no-scalpel vasectomy. I had a consultation appointment over the phone and was told that the doctor may refuse to do the vasectomy based on the electrical shocks my retainer on the back of my teeth might conduct during the procedure. I really would like to have the treatment and don't want to be refused based on the issue, especially since the wire is incredibly thin and small. Any advice? Thank you.

Why are my testicles still incredibly sore 11 days after vasectomy?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a vasectomy on Feb. 21st. Why are my testicles still incredibly sore, especially on the bottoms? The slightest touch can make me feel nauseous. I followed all the doctor's orders—ice packs, rest, pills, no work for one week, jockstrap, etc. I don’t want to continue taking pills, and they’re not helping anyway. Is this normal? Why exactly do they hurt so bad? Why do I feel it aching all the way up to my stomach? Thank you for your time!

I had a vasectomy about a month ago and have ejaculated via masturbation about 20 times. The last 5 times, my semen was discolored. Is this normal?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a vasectomy about a month ago and have ejaculated via masturbation about 20 times. The last 5 times, my semen was a light brownish-red or white with 2-5 tiny brown clumps that almost look like small boogers. There is no pain. Is this normal? I noticed a similar question on this site and half the doctors said it was, half didn't. Has anyone had patients with a similar problem? Thanks

I have been on medicine for 2 days and my testicle is still rock hard and 3x its normal size. What should I do?
No-Scalpel Vasectomy -1 answer
I had a vasectomy 7 days ago. By the time I saw my urologist on post-op day 5, my left testicle was extremely swollen and bruised. He said I have higher than normal bruising/swelling and a varicocele but was not overly concerned. He prescribed Nabumetone 500 mg 2x a day. He did not feel I was infected. I have been on the medicine for 2 days and my testicle is still rock hard and 3x it’s normal size.
