Dr. Yasmin Bootwala is an active professional member of the Society of Urodynamics, Female Pelvic Medicine, & Urogenital Reconstruction (SUFU), the Society for Women in Urology (SWIU), and the American Urological Association (AUA).  She collaborates with Dr. Crista Johnson-Agbakwu and Arizona State University on research efforts pertaining to Optimizing Healthcare for Women affected by Female Genital Cutting.  She assists with Cultural Competency workshops and surgical workshops for University of Arizona medical students.

I am a native Houstonian living in Phoenix since 2013. I am a urologist with expertise in Urinary Tract Reconstruction and Pelvic Floor Surgery. I majored in biology and Spanish at University of Miami and then completed my MD at Baylor College of Medicine. I completed my urology residency training in Atlanta at Emory University, and then I completed a 2 year clinical pelvic floor surgery and reconstructive fellowship at MD Anderson in Houston.

Dr. Bootwala has a strong interest in global health and surgery.  She worked in Uganda with International Volunteers in Urology as well as performed complex fistula repairs in Sierra Leone in partnership with the West Africa Fistula Foundation.
