I had a vasectomy in 1995. I've been experiencing memory loss for some years now. I want to reverse the vasectomy. Would this help?

Short term memory does not stick to my brain but the old memory is okay. I have been to many neurologists and no one ever mentioned vasectomy but I am convinced that this is my problem, considering also my overwhelming intolerance in general. I want to reverse my vasectomy to try to reverse this situation.

There is no evidence that I’m aware of that indicates any benefit to your memory situation

Sorry to say, a vasectomy would not be the cause of the memory loss and so a vasectomy reversal would not be helpful to you. Going down that path will not have a positive effect on short-term memory.

No I don't think it will help. I am sure there is a study somewhere that will say it is related, but this would be rare. Also, there is a chance that the reversal won't work and then you've gone to the expense and inconvenience for something that may have not helped in the first place. "Common things occur commonly" so I'd start with an evaluation by your family doctor who may refer you to a neurologist.

I had a vasectomy before meeting my partner and now that we will be marrying soon, we'd like to start a family. So I had a vasectomy reversal three months ago. I have not ejaculated more than 10 times for purity purposes before marriage. I had my sperm tested after the reversal procedure and it shows that the sperm has not returned. Can we hold out hope? Is there a chance the sperm will return?
