Is my pain at two+ weeks normal?

I had a vasectomy 17 days ago. At about day 9 I started getting significant pain in the left testicle. It still hurts if I walk without tight underwear on or if it is touched... specifically if it is pulled downward. I can feel the pain in the testicle and up a straight line into my lower abdomen area. It almost feels like a hernia sometimes (though I know it's not a hernia). Is this normal?

Your discomfort is not normal but it is common. The body and the testicles are adjusting to the changes caused by blocking the sperm portion of the testicle from the ejaculate. The vas tube leaves the testicle in the scrotum and travel up through the inguinal area, the groin, and then curves behind the bladder to enter the prostate. This is why some patients experience pain or sensations as you have describe. In time it will abate. If not, check with your urologist.
