Is it normal to have scrotum sensitivity 3 weeks after a vasectomy?

I had a vasectomy 3 weeks ago. I started experiencing pain 1 week after the procedure. I saw the doctor 2 weeks after the procedure and they prescribed antibiotics. I am almost done with them and only feel a little better. Is it normal to feel like this 3 weeks after the procedure?

No that is not typical. It is entirely possible that you are simply fixating on this area and feeling things that normally you would simply ignore. Cannot say for sure but sensitivity alone over your scrotum is unusual. However, it is possible that you have discomfort due to congestion on the testicular side of the vasectomy. This does not mean that your vasectomy was done poorly but is something that does occur. Its not clear why this would start 1 week after the vasectomy, however.

It is not normal but very common. If no signs of infection, then given time, the overwhelming odds are that this will resolve on its own. As needed, Advil is helpful.
