If I receive a "no sperm" on a semen analysis 6 weeks post vasectomy, is it safe to say I'm sterile? Or, when I should I repeat the test to be sure?

You are most probably sterile, however in my practice I prefer two negative sperm specimens. Since the stakes are so high i.e. pregnancy I like knowing I have two specimens confirming sterility.

A single semen sample that shows 0 sperm is sufficient to say that you are "sterile" according to guidelines published by the American Urological Association.

As long as you have no sperm on your post-vasectomy semen analysis, you should be given the green light by the urologist that performed your vasectomy to have unprotected intercourse.
However, it's important to remember that 0.05% (or 1/2000) of initially successful vasectomies will fail over the long-term due to a process called recanalization.

I had a vasectomy 2.5 weeks ago and was abstinent for the first 10 days. My testicles and general area are still tender but sexual activity is fine. At the end of an ejaculation there is a burning/tingling sensation at the end of my penis. Almost like a mild version of if you have gotten soap in the end of your penis. They severed and burned the left side with no problem, but then the doctor could not get the other tube to come to the surface is what I am told! She fought and sweat to "find it" or manipulate it to cut it, but NEVER could!!.
