I had a vasectomy one year ago and for the first time I have just recently had sexual intercourse to the point of orgasm. Can my wife get pregnant?

I never got a sperm count because we were never able to penetrate nor was I able to orgasm and ejaculate. I’ve read that a sperm’s life span is about 74 days inside the body, so it’s been about 5 life cycles. Can my wife still get pregnant even if my tubes did not reconnect?

Yes, pregnancy is possible but unlikely. You should have a semen analysis because it is more about the number of ejaculations necessary to clear the vas deferens of sperm than the length of time from the vasectomy. Another option is to order the spermcheck.com kit to test.

Unlikely, but you must have a post-vasectomy semen analysis to double check. Rarely, the vasectomy is not successful. So, I would try your best to get that semen analysis. If it shows no sperm, you are all set. But, to be cautious, you should use birth control until then.
