I had a vasectomy exactly 18 months ago. I still have extra swelling or scar tissue and seems to be getting worse. Will it ever go away?

Immediately after my surgery, I noticed that the vein going down was hard. I looked up on the web and came to the conclusion it was sperm graniola. The doctor disagreed. He said it was an irritation from the surgery. 18 months later, that vein is still Hard. Also, next to each testicle I have puss bags or scar tissue. They get bigger and smaller. Sometimes they hurt. It seems to get worse about once per month. I showed that to the doctor also, and he had no concerns.

Its not exactly clear what is happening. You could have some scar formation as a reaction to the vasectomy. It is unlikely that it is a vein. The fact that it varies with size would indicate that what ever it is is filled with fluid and not actually scar tissue which would not change in size as time progresses

In times where the patient "feels something" but the doctor examines and isn't concerned, may mean that the changes that occur with the natural dynamics sperm flow after a vasectomy are noted by the patient. It doesn't mean that you aren't having these symptoms or that isn't something you feel is now hard, it means it is not clinically significant. An empiric course of antibiotics may help and a scrotal ultrasound may reassure you that nothing anatomical is wrong. In some people the changes that occur with surgery and then the healing process are noted and are aggravating, but as a rule are not an indication that anything is wrong or that anything should be done. A second opinion is rarely a bad idea.
