What causes a contusion after vasectomy? What can be done about it and the tenderness it causes?

I had a vasectomy 5 months ago and have what my urologist calls a contusion. He is rubbing off the tenderness to my scrotum and balls as nothing. How do you get a contusion after vasectomy? What can be done about it and the tenderness it causes?

Contusion, also called bruise, is a result of ruptured capillaries during the procedure. It can be slightly tender and may persist for weeks. It will ultimately disappear, and it does not need any treatment besides analgesic for pain.
