How large or firm is a standard self-curable hematoma?

On day 5, I developed a large ball of fluid/blood above and behind my right testicle. It is the size of a green grape and just as firm as a slightly overripe grape. Using a heating pad, taking ibuprofen, and relaxing for the most part. Wearing a jock strap helps with pain. I have an office job. Will that be a problem to go into work without my heat pad? Bruising is not getting worse but the ball feels slightly firmer every day. Should I ask to get sliced and drained now?

As hematomas go, your area is small. It will resolve slowly, with time. If it takes a turn for the worse, such as more pain or redness, then concerns about infection come into play. In the latter case, you'd need to see your doctor.
