After sex I get a small lump where the tubes were cut. Is this normal?

It's been around 10 days since my vasectomy.

You might examine yourself in the shower to see if the lumps are there all the time as this is common and the area of healing from the procedure. It may be that you are more aware of the lumps after sex and that it is not a "new" lump. It is unlikely that a lump forms with sex and more likely a sensation of something already present.

It is common to have some "lumps" on the vas where the vasectomy was done. These granulomas usually resolve with time after the vasectomy, although they may persist long-term. If they enlarge or become bothersome, they can be removed with another procedure; this is not typically needed. Rarely, they can be a sign of recanalization or reconnection of the vas, so as always make sure to have a semen sample confirm the absence of sperm before stopping other contraception.

The lumps are the stitch or clips on the end of the tubes where the tubes were cut. There will be some swelling there as well that should decrease over time. Just remember you're not infertile yet!
